What is Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapists (or Physical Therapists) are University trained healthcare professionals with a minimum of a four year bachelor’s degree who specialize in hands-on treatment to restore, maintain and maximize function and quality of life.

Physiotherapists assess, diagnose and develop customized treatment plans to restore, maintain and maximize movement, flexibility and physical independence. Treatment options include a wide range of manual therapies (joint mobilization), strengthening programs, electrotherapy (therapeutic ultra sound, interferential, TENS, low intensity laser therapy), and education on the cause of the condition and how to avoid future injury.
